9:1 Receive-only Antenna Transformer
Only 10 made -- act now.
Completely weatherproof: water, acid,
caustic, ozone, salt and UV resistant. The
transformer is wound on a special ferrite
toroid with 22 Ga magnet wire and potted
into the zinc housing with Marine Epoxy.
The unit is built to MIL-SPEC for portable
and field applications, and is now available
here for your permanent home installation.
These are so "over designed" that they can
tolerate several watts of transmitter power
(but, not warranted against that).
Rated for 20KHz through 30MHz+
These transformers are built with
the absolutely best quality
components;
Teflon/nickel SO239 connector,
gold plated screw terminals,
diecast zinc (not aluminum)
housing, marine epoxy potting
compound, stainless steel
hardware, and a very expensive
ferrite toroid core.
Our cost for the parts is almost
$42.00.
Our labor is about 2 1/2 hours each.
For a very limited time you can
have one of the ten that I've built
for $48.00 (+shipping, $5.00 in the
US).
If there is enough interest in this item, I will go into larger production quantities, but the cost will include my labor. At that time the cost will be in the $60.00 area.
Note to previous customers: If you purchased the raw Balun module from me in the past several years, rest assured that it was made with the exact same toroid
core and wires. It was no longer feasible for me to continue the "module-only" item, so I decided to incorporate the actual epoxy potting in a usable weatherproof
enclosure, rather than the bare potted module. Those sold for $28.00, so the added cost now covers the enclosure and connectors...that's the only difference.
